Royal Enfield Himalayan Rental Shillong

Royal Enfield Himalayan 411

The Off-Road King

If your itinerary includes the broken roads to Shnongpdeng, the rocky path to Phe Phe Falls, or the steep descent to Tyrna (for the Double Decker trek), the Himalayan is non-negotiable. Its 220mm ground clearance prevents underbody scraping, and the long-travel suspension eats up potholes that would shatter a scooter’s suspension.

Seat Height: 800mm
Tank: 15 Liters
Weight: 199kg
ABS: Dual Channel
Royal Enfield Classic 350 Rental Shillong

Classic 350 Reborn

The Highway Cruiser

The “Reborn” series engine cuts vibrations significantly compared to the old Bullet. This is the best bike for couples. The split seat offers great comfort for the pillion rider on the 2-hour ride to Cherrapunji. Its heavy weight (195kg) acts as an anchor against the strong crosswinds at Mawkdok Bridge.

Seat Height: 805mm
Torque: 27Nm
Vibration: Zero
Comfort: 5/5 Stars
Scooty Rental Shillong TVS Ntorq

TVS NTORQ 125

The Power Scooter

Do not underestimate this scooter. With a 3-valve engine, the NTORQ has better pickup than many 150cc bikes. This is crucial when overtaking slow trucks on the NH6 highway. It features Bluetooth navigation on the dashboard, so you don’t need to mount your phone. Ideal for solo travelers or light couples.

Speed: 95 kmph
Storage: 22 Liters
Tech: Bluetooth Nav
Type: Automatic

The Complete Renter’s Handbook (2026)

Renting a bike in a hill station like Shillong is different from renting in Goa or a metro city. The terrain, weather, and traffic rules require specific knowledge. At Cloud City Wheels, we believe an informed rider is a safe rider. Here is everything you need to know about our pricing, policies, and suggestions.

1. Understanding the Deposit & Insurance

Many customers ask, “Why is there a security deposit?” The deposit (₹1,000 – ₹3,000 depending on the bike) acts as a safety net for minor damages like broken mirrors, bent brake levers, or deep body scratches that might occur during the trip.

2. Fuel Policy & Availability

We operate on a “Tank-to-Tank” or “Same Level” policy. This means if you receive the bike with 2 points of fuel, you return it with 2 points.

3. Riding Gear & Luggage

Meghalaya weather is unpredictable. It can be sunny in Shillong and pouring rain in Cherrapunji 50km away.

4. Breakdown Assistance Policy

Our “21-Point Safety Check” minimizes breakdown risks. We check chain tension, engine oil levels, brake pad thickness, and tyre tread depth before every handover. However, machines can be unpredictable.

In City Limits (Shillong): If the bike faces a mechanical issue within 10km of our garage, our mechanic will reach you, or we will provide a replacement vehicle free of cost.

Remote Areas (Dawki/Sohra): In remote locations, we will guide you to the nearest mechanic via video call or phone. Major mechanical failures (engine/clutch) are on us. However, punctures are the rider’s responsibility. We ensure tyres are in top condition, but sharp stones on off-road trails can cause flats. Puncture shops are available in most villages along NH6.

5. Tips for Negotiating Shillong Traffic

Shillong has narrow roads and significant traffic during school hours (8 AM – 10 AM and 2 PM – 4 PM). Traffic rules here are strictly enforced.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Royal Enfield rental price in Shillong?
The rental price for a Royal Enfield Classic 350 Reborn is ₹1,200 per day. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 is priced at ₹1,300 per day. We offer discounts for weekly bookings.
Can I rent a bike in Shillong with a learner’s license?
No, we strictly require a valid permanent Driving License (DL) for the rider. A learner’s license is not accepted for bike rentals in Meghalaya due to safety regulations on hill roads.
Is it safe to ride a scooty to Dawki or Cherrapunji?
Yes, many travelers ride scooters to Cherrapunji. However, for Dawki (80km away), we recommend a 125cc scooter like the TVS Ntorq or a bike like the Royal Enfield for better stability against wind and trucks on the highway.
Do you offer bike rental in Police Bazar?
Yes, Cloud City Wheels is located very close to Police Bazar. We are the most accessible bike rental service for tourists staying in Center Point, Polo Towers, or Pinewood Hotel.
What happens if it rains during my rental period?
Rain is common in Meghalaya! We do not offer refunds for rain as it is a natural occurrence. We recommend renting a good quality raincoat from us and enjoying the misty ride—it’s part of the Shillong experience!
How much is the security deposit for bike hire?
The security deposit ranges from ₹1,000 for scooters to ₹3,000 for adventure bikes like the Himalayan. This amount is fully refundable upon the safe return of the vehicle.
